The traffic unit of the Swinomish Police Department consists of two officers and has an unmarked patrol vehicle with state of the art moving radar equipment. One of the traffic officers is a certified trainer in child passenger safety, field sobriety and alcohol breathalyzer testing.

Along with the two traffic officers, all members of the department work to enforce the law and educate drivers. The radar reader trailer is placed in all communities on the reservation to allow everyone the opportunity to see how fast they are traveling on our roads.
