Swinomish Police personnel recently completed legal update training in the newly refurbished training facility. Trish Johnson and Melissa Sullivan, attorneys from the Skagit County Prosecutor's Office, conducted the classes which covered a number of newly enacted laws. Officers of the Swinomish Police Department are required to receive ongoing training to maintain Washington State Tribal Peace Officer Certification. These are the same standards that govern all law officers in the State of Washington. Future trainings and community meetings are being scheduled.
